In order to use the 70mai parking surveillance mode, you’ll need to install the 70mai hardwire kit. You can’t enable parking surveillance mode without this hardwire kit installed now.

Final thoughts
This 70mai A500 series is an upgraded 70mai Dashcam Pro. Now the newer 70mai Dashcam Pro Plus+ A500S has dual dashcam functionality with the RC06 rear cam.

The 70mai Dashcam Pro Plus+ A500S now uses the Novatek NT96580 processor instead of the Huawei HiSilicon Hi3556 V200 processor in the 70mai Dashcam Pro Plus A500. I am liking the change to Novatek by 70mai. But I do hope in the future there will be a 70mai dashcam which will be using super-capacitors instead of lithium batteries.

The ADAS of the 70mai Dashcam Pro Plus+ A500S, I can say that is about 80+% accurate like my Thinkware U1000’s ADAS. 70mai’s parking mode will starts recording when there’s a trigger of the G-sensor.

I had bought the A500s with the rear camera together with the hardware kit.
The accessories shop technical wireman advise me against using the hardware kid. Reason is, the battery will drain faster. Not worth to exchange for the price of a new battery.

What’s the truth about this?

Actually, all dashcams that have parking mode will drain the car battery when parked. But will have to see the dashcam’s car battery protection is how good. The current best is from Thinkware dashcams. A550S’ low voltage cutoff is 11.4v stated on the hardwire kit.

Another option is to install a battery pack for the dashcam to use when in parking mode but not cheap.
